NEO Team Update

NEO Team Update

God is at work in and through NEO Nazarenes!

I hear testimonies every week of God’s activity in our midst. We need to celebrate it! We will do so at Assembly in six weeks, but below is a little appetizer as some of our pastors respond to  “I Want to Celebrate…”

Dale Fillmore, Okmulgee New Day: Our Sunday morning class has a jar in which we put marbles or glass stones to celebrate our answers to prayer.  This week we had to put a large one in. My nephew had to have surgery on his foot.  They took off some toes and a large portion of one foot.  Infection was a real concern – diabetes.  They said he would never walk again.  Praise the Lord, his mother told me this week that he is up, about, and walking!

Bret Metcalfe, Claremore: We had a great Resurrection Service with four people being baptized. The ages ranged from 11 to 78. It is never too late to be baptized!

Brad Farnsworth, Broken Arrow Core: For over a year now, we’ve had baptisms nearly every week—often more than one in a single Sunday. We are in awe of a God who continues to transform lives.

Billy Harding, Meeker Country Faith: I want to share and celebrate that people are drawing closer to the Lord. We had a great celebration of resurrection Sunday with two new families attending.

Brady Thelander, Sapulpa: We celebrated two baptisms on Easter! We also have 13 people new to the church plugged into an on-ramp discipleship group called, Rooted.

Brian Loderhose, Owasso Silver Creek: God is so good, and we praise our risen Savior. Silver Creek baptized two Sunday and Silver Creek Iglesia baptized one. Iglesia also hosted the Tello’s who are from Argentina and now serving in Paraguay. It was a great celebration with Easter eggs and a cookout in the rain!

Steve Spangenberg, Bartlesville: We had an incredible Easter weekend of services. Total attendance was 1,236 and the best part is we spontaneously baptized 7 people! It was the first time 5 of them had ever been to our church!

Jim Thornton, Tulsa Hills: On Easter Sunday we celebrated the testimony of a prodigal that came home!  Proof that God still hears our prayers and is in the Story-Changing business!  This Sunday we will receive 9 new members and baptize new believers.  We are also celebrating the completion of our first Grief Share group study.  This is such a timely and needed ministry in the local church and is a great way to bless our community.

Daniel Surratt, Tulsa Central: We’re celebrating a wonderful Easter season here at Central Church! It’s been an exciting few weeks:

  • On Palm Sunday, we had the joy of baptizing Chris and Julianna.
  • This Sunday, we’re welcoming five new members into our church family.
  • We’re also honoring Pastor Steve Davis as he enters retirement, giving thanks to God for his faithful service and ministry.
  • Our Good Friday service and Easter morning celebration were both powerful and meaningful.
  • On top of that, our Spanish-speaking congregation has seen several new families join recently, and we’re rejoicing that a young person gave their life to the Lord!

God is moving, and we’re grateful to be part of what He’s doing.
