NEO Team Update 4-20-17
Dear NEO Family,
This week in my devotional guide, I am asked to daily sing/read the great hymn, “How Firm a Foundation”. As I have done so, I have reflected on how thankful I am for the faithful God depicted in the words of this hymn:
· I have faced some challenging tasks, as you have, demanding wisdom and strength beyond what I have to offer. How helpful to hear God say, “Fear not; I am with thee. O be not dismayed, for I am thy God, I will still give thee aid. I’ll strengthen thee, help thee, and cause thee to stand, upheld by My gracious, omnipotent hand.”
· I have conducted three funerals in the past month, which is unusual for me in this ministry role. How thankful I am that I can remind families, “When thro’ the deep waters I call thee to go, the rivers of sorrow shall not overflow; for I will be with thee thy trials to bless, and sanctify to thee thy deepest distress.”
· We are near the end of a church year. Pastors and churches are reflecting on the victories and the trials of the past twelve months. We can rejoice that even the trials are not wasted! “When through fiery trials thy pathway shall lie, my grace, all-sufficient, shall be thy supply. The flames shall not hurt thee; I only design, thy dross to consume and thy gold to refine.
· And every one of us who has put our trust in Jesus can enthusiastically proclaim, “The soul that on Jesus hath leaned for repose, I will not, I will not desert to his foes; that soul, though all hell should endeavor to shake, I’ll never, no never, no never forsake.”
Thanks be to God for a firm foundation!

I Want to Celebrate. . .
Bret Metcalfe, Claremore. . . God’s faithfulness!
David Stevens, Vinita. . . God has blessed us with His presence. It is always amazing! We have had several visitors and we are following up with them. Our budgets will all be paid in full this year.
Jason Isaacs, Tulsa Kaleo. . . God is good! We held a combined bilingual service with our Hispanic Church that was so moving for our people. To hear songs of worship to our Lord in both Spanish and English and then prayer in Spanish and English and the word of God coming alive in both languages was an experience I will not forget. God moved in the service and we saw people from both congregations at the altar seeking God’s presence and the ability to become a “living sacrifice” as we studied Romans 12. God is good and he is moving at Kaleo Church.
Casey Hollingsworth, Miami New Life. . . We celebrated 10 years of New Life ministry this past Sunday. Great attendance and fellowship luncheon. Received 7 new members into membership. Heard several testimonies of how Jesus has worked through the New Life Church since its inception 10 years ago. Honored those who served Jesus faithfully in the New Life church and have since gone to be with Jesus. Great time of celebrating the past but looking forward into the future Jesus has for his church!
Jordan Serracino, Davenport. . . We are really making some headway on the re-vamping of our Clothing Closet, we hope to have it fully open and operation, including a community game room in the back, within a few months. The congregation has been working hard to pay for the necessary work, and to do what can be done on our own.
Steve Brown, Cleveland. . . We PRAISE the Lord as he is moving and working in our church. A gentleman started atttending our church who was living out of a truck. He was having trouble finding a place to live. We prayed he came to a Wed prayer meeting. We cried out to the Lord for this need. God opened the doors and provided! We are blessed with four new members. It was a time of celebration in the local body.
Otoniel Dannemann, Tulsa Fuente de Vida. . . We met this month with our members and they made a commitment to open 10 Bible Studies in homes. Our vision is to have 20 this year.
Ronnie Baker, Tulsa Audacity. . . We had 3 people respond to the call of salvation. We have people who have been part of Audacity Church for some time who started giving for the first time. We have started new small groups in homes and coffee shops.
Steve Davis, Sapulpa. . . We had a great dinner outreach to the parents of our teens and children where we were able to make good connections with new families in our community.
Georgina Lopez, Tulsa Cielos Abiertos. . . The kids’ event was a success. The children had fun and learned so much.
Curtis Martin, Mannford Grace Family Worship Center. . . The materials have been purchased to build the new connecting cover between our two buildings. Construction will begin this month. We welcome a new family who moved here from New Mexico.
Austin Troyer, Tahlequah. . . We got our parking lot resealed as a gift from a family that we have been praying for. We did some benefit dinners for their son who has cancer and they graciously gifted us this service. Also, I want to celebrate the way that God leads our people to serve. Sunday, we had a man come by the church from the street and he was let in, given water to drink, and driven home by some of our guys. May God speak through the ways that we love others.
Clemente Montoya, Fe y Esperanza. . . Our pastors birthday!! We thank the Lord for giving another year!!
Yalmi & Norma Izaguirre, Tulsa Regency Iglesia. . . One family from Puerto Rico came to be a part of our church.
