NEO Team Update 4-22-19

NEO Team Update 4-22-19

This is the last week of the 2018-19 Church year. We rejoice over the work of God in our midst this past year and are already making plans for health and growth in 2019-20!

Instructions for end-of-the-year reporting have been mailed to lead pastors, but the information also is available here on our website.

We are making plans for you to attend our annual conferences and assembly, what we call ADVANCE, on June 1 – 3!

Why should you attend?

  • At the 2019 NEO Advance, we will address the big issues: Why do we exist? How do we behave? What do we do? How will we succeed?
  • We hope you will leave Advance clearer about our mission and more confident about our future.
  • We are planning sessions to help you learn practices and approaches that will strengthen your skills as a leader in your congregation.
  • We trust you will feel more connected, more deeply interwoven into the fabric of Nazarene witness.
  • We are confident you will feel inspired, encouraged and challenged to a deeper commitment to Christ.

Check out the latest schedule for 2019 Advance.

RSVP lunch count by May 6

I Want to Celebrate. . .

Cary Tipton, Mannford Grace Family Worship Center. . . Looking forward to baptisms.

David Stevens, Vinita. . . Thank God for the way He helps us during difficult times. He is comforting those who mourn. He understands our disappointment when people stumble in their Faith-walk. He helps them get up and try again, if they will. In spite of circumstances Vinita Nazarene is growing in faith and in love for each other and the world. We are praying for God to help us reach new families for our Church.

Bret Metcalfe, Claremore. . . We had spiritual renewal services with Susie Shellenberger. There were several who were at the altar seeking a closer and deeper relationship with God.

Rod Thelander, Sand Springs. . . Words from Dr. James Diehl’s Facebook: Tremendous revival at Sand Springs, OK with Pastor Rod and Mary Thelander! God blessed with many victories and also blessed with strong attendances. The closing service Sunday evening was even larger than Sunday morning. (That’s a praise!) The Thelanders are seeing the tide rise and growth is beginning to happen. So refreshing to see a historic church like Sand Springs really get into revival mode! New life! New victories! New healing miracles! New and fresh air! May they keep “fanning the flame!” The Holy Spirit is getting the bride ready!!!

Yalmi & Norma Izaguirre, Tulsa Regency Iglesia. . . We are praying for find a building for our meetings; praise the Lord, now we have in promises of $100,000 for the first payment.

Dale Fillmore, Okmulgee. . . Growth of one young man that I have been mentoring. He may be ready to move into leadership on the board now. Also, we have three or four youth that want to be baptized. Hopefully with a little counseling they will soon be ready.

Tim Odom, Collinsville. . . Welcomed 8 new members into our church family this Sunday, praise God!

Otoniel Dannemann, Tulsa Fuente de Vida. . . We celebrate a women’s worship time — God was moving and touching their hearts. A family from Venezuela joined our church and they are a blessing for us.

Brian Loderhose, Owasso Silver Creek. . . We have been busy stuffing packets with Jesus Film videos in hopes of distributing them throughout Owasso before Easter. We enjoyed a crab boil last night to celebrate all the work that has been done already and to have some fun while we stuffed even more. We still have a long way to go, but we pray that God will use this awesome outreach tool to make a difference in our community.

Muskogee First. . . We are celebrating because we have selected a lead pastor. Rev. Drew Dinnel will be joining us in May 2019!

Austin Troyer, Tahlequah. . . We welcomed a member this month by transfer. We started what we are calling “Arms Linked Outreach” events. These are opportunities for our church to work together for things we do out in the community of Tahlequah. We cleaned up our street to help our neighborhood look beautiful. We put together lunches for Habitat for humanity workers. God has truly been present at our worship services. Our Wednesday night Bible study activities continue to grow.

Arturo Amaro & Denyis Paz, Broken Arrow Iglesia. . . Combined service with English speaking congregation; ministry to feed the homeless in Tulsa.

Scott Moore, Broken Arrow First. . . Upcoming Outreach opportunities this Saturday: Sprint Vendor Fair, Good Samaritan Women’s Clinic.Carl Brown, Hominy. . . We are excited about new members being add in April and the great involvement with the children in our “Children’s Time” we have each Wednesday with 15 to 20 children coming and learning about Jesus and preparing to present plays and what they have learned to the Church on Palm Sunday. God is reaching our community and family with Christ’s Word and Love.
