NEO Team Update 4-4-19

NEO Team Update 4-4-19

We are making plans for you to attend our annual conferences and assembly,  what we call ADVANCE, on June 1 – 3!

Why should you attend?

  • At the 2019 NEO Advance, we will address the big issues: Why do we exist? How do we behave? What do we do? How will we succeed?
  • We hope you will leave Advance clearer about our mission and more confident about our future.
  • We are planning sessions to help you learn practices and approaches that will strengthen your skills as a leader in your congregation.
  • We trust you will feel more connected, more deeply interwoven into the fabric of Nazarene witness.
  • We are confident you will feel inspired, encouraged and challenged to a deeper commitment to Christ.

Check out the latest schedule for 2019 Advance.

Dr. Mark Bane is one of our Keynote Speakers for Advance 2019

We have invited Mark Bane to preach in our opening Spiritual Renewal Service and to lead us in Evangelism Multiplication Training with the goal of taking the fear out of evangelism.

Mark currently serves as the Director of Evangelism and New Church Development for USA/Canada Church of the Nazarene. In his spare time he is lead pastor in a new Church plant (TLC Total Life Church) in the urban core of Kansas City.

After graduating from Trevecca Nazarene University, Mark continued his education at Nazarene Theological Seminary. He is a graduate of the Billy Graham School of Evangelism, the School of Large Church Management (tract 2) and is a certified Personality Trainer. He is a certified Senior Master trainer with Dynamic Church Planting International and is a certified church planting Master Assessment Director.

Mark spent 9 years in youth ministry in Miami, FL, Kansas City, MO, and North Little Rock, AR. He pastored for 24 years in Arkansas, St Louis, Albuquerque (a portion of this story was published in the book “A Holy Purpose.”) and Atlanta, Georgia. He has led the planting of eight new churches while pastoring existing churches. Making Christ-like disciples is a vital part of his ministry as 1500 souls have joined the church by profession of faith in his pastoral ministry, 24 of those are now in vocational ministry as a result. Mark served as District Superintendent of the Joplin District from 2013 – 2017. Mark’s life mission is “win as many people to Jesus as possible then die.” He is happily married to Cheryl, his wife of 35 + years and has two adult children.

“A Movement of God Through the People of God”, a brand new effort to reframe and clarify Nazarene missions,  will be rolled out to all churches at District Advance on Saturday, June 1.

Did you know that three Work and Witness trips are being planned by the NEO District to the Dominican Republic within a nine month period? Groups will be going Sept. 24–Oct. 1, 2019, June 24–July 3, 2020 and July 4–11, 2020. Find out the details at our District Advance on June 1!
