NEO Team Update 7-16-20
What One Thing Needs the Greatest Attention as a District?
That question consumed your District Advisory Council for over an hour on Monday, June 1. The idea drawing the greatest support was “Repentance, Individually and Corporately”.
This week my (Dave McKellips) Bible reading has taken me to the Book of Revelation. There is a recurring call for the church to repent in this revelation of Jesus Christ to his servant John: Read More
Fueling the Nazarene Movement with Love
I was privileged to work with my friend, Larry McKain, and a great team of leaders, to present a missional account of the Church of the Nazarene as an amazing multiplying agent for Jesus in the world. The book is encouraging, inspiring and challenging. I hope to include some quotes from the book in the Team Updates in 2020:
Every time you hear the words Church of the Nazarene, we hope you will first think about us as the Church of the Nazarene, led by Jesus. (p. 26)
Weekly, in the Church of the Nazarene, we start 27 new churches and 2,872 new people join the church. Nazarene churches have been multiplying at this rate every week for the last 10 years! (p. 28)
God does not have a mission for the church. God has a church for his mission. (p. 29)
Tired of Fighting?
We all have conflict. American culture is as divided as many of us can recall. “Mask” has become a four-letter word. We have huge differences on political views or solutions for the racial tension in our land. Of course, much of our conflict is not the big blow up – it’s more like the tense conversation around the breakfast table or the difficulties with an angry neighbor, an overbearing boss, or a moody teenager. These everyday conflicts build up walls and tear down relationships wherever they occur – at home, at work, at church or anywhere in between.
There’s good news and real hope. Resolving Everyday Conflict is an eight-week DVD study that unpacks the amazing things the Bible has to say about conflict and relationships. Throughout this study, you’ll find the powerful and practical answers you are looking for as you dig into topics such as: when to overlook an offense, the root cause of conflict, what makes a good apology, what forgiveness really means, how to deal with difficult people, and much more. Contact Marla in the District Office to schedule a time to use this series in your class or church.

July NMI Emphasis: Links
Links is a Nazarene Missions International program that strives to join Nazarene missionaries and Church of the Nazarene districts through relationship and connections.
Our NEO Links coordinator is Arleen Crutcher and she has mailed out all the Links church assignments. If you did not receive yours please contact the District Office or 918-496-0022. The assigned missionary is the same that you had last year.
The monetary gift assignment & Christmas amount should be sent to the NMI treasurer. Contact the District Office for Dean’s address.
Please pray for your Links missionary – remember them on a regular basis. You can remember special days like birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas, etc. Or just a card saying you are praying for them.
David and Marquita Mosher are retired missionaries on our district. They may be available to speak in your churches. You could also invite Fernando and Liliana Almeida to speak to your church via fb live or video message.
