NEO Team Update 8-15-19
Dedication of New Facilities for Roca de Salvacion
Under the leadership of Otoniel Dannemann, our Hispanic Coordinator, we now have 8 Hispanic Churches in Northeast Oklahoma and two more in the birthing process. We celebrated a milestone this past Sunday: Roca de Salvacion, formerly Regency Park Hispanic, became the first of our Hispanic Churches to purchase their own facility.
Congratulations are due Pastors Yalmi and Norma Izaguirre and the members of this congregation for their faith and vision. They have a beautiful worship center along with multiple classrooms, offices and fellowship space at 4th and Memorial. Pastor Geoffrey Gunter and the Regency Park Church are to be thanked for hosting a Hispanic congregation for 13 years and providing the opportunity for this congregation to spread its wings and fly on its own.

Audacity Work Blitz 360
Calling all Tulsa Mission Area Churches! Our Mission Area Coordinator, Jim Thornton, is asking all area churches to join in a work force to help Tulsa Audacity (12th and Delaware) complete a massive remodeling project they have been working on for the last few months.
We need 90 volunteers to work 4 hours for a combined total of 360 hours of Pure Nazarene Work Force! Just imagine what will get done!
Here are the shifts we have available:
Friday, August 16, 5-9pm
Saturday, August 17, 8am-12pm
Saturday, August 17, 12-4pm
That’s 30 people in each time slot. Could you join us in signing up for one of the shifts? Maybe your Sunday School class or Small Group would work together on a shift. Contact Ronnie Baker to sign up.
Church Treasurers Training – Saturday, August 24, 10am at Regency Park Church
Our District Treasurer, Bud Lauhon, and our District Bookkeeper, Sharon Gunter, will be facilitators of a workshop for Pastors and Church Treasurers on the Nazarene Treasury System and church finances. Please sign up and send questions in advance to Sharon Gunter.
NEO July Reports
I Want to Celebrate. . .
We join our NEO churches in celebrating 19 salvations and 7 baptisms in July!
Keith Cole, Chandler. . . Even in the midst of low attendance, we were able to send 4 children and 3 teenagers to camp! God’s provision for all our facility and personal needs is abundant and sure. Good for Jesus!
David Stevens, Vinita. . . Carol led a Children’s Crusade/VBS at Country Faith Nazarene. Five children responded to the invitation to receive Christ. Thank God for safe travels for all who were traveling this month on vacation.
Tim Odom, Collinsville. . . Had a great group of kids and sponsors go to NYC in Arizona and a great group of children go to kids camp this month, with lives changed. It’s been a busy but great month at Collinsville!!
Carl Brown, Hominy. . . We had a wonderful VBS this last week that was attended by 54 children and 18 volunteers. It was a wonderful week and we saw many children come to the altar on Friday to receive the blessing of salvation. We were also blessed with many parents that came and shared our service on Sunday morning as the Children’s program was presented for the entire church. God is so good.
Bret Metcalfe, Claremore. . . We are seeing people at the altar seeking and others verbalizing they are seeking a deeper and more meaningful relationship with God. They are wanting their life to count for what Christ has done in their lives.
Jim Thornton, Tulsa Hills. . . We are excited to launch a new ministry to families of special needs children, “Joy Worship” on August 18. Kathy Cott will be leading this effort each Sunday morning as her team creates an effective worship service while parents are able to attend Sunday morning worship with the peace of knowing their children are in a safe environment. Kathy and Jenny Ramnath have such a heart for this ministry. We are excited to see the results as they move forward.
Cary Tipton, Mannford Grace Family Worship Center. . . Thursday night cottage prayer meetings have begun. We had two neighbors join us. One of our 12 year olds wanted to get baptized on the fourth of July instead of in the sanctuary on Sunday because her father could attend on that day. Close to 50 in attendance for her baptism. Praise God! Bible quizzing has begun for all age groups. We already have three Bible verses memorized.
Austin Troyer, Tahlequah. . . We had Vacation Bible School and celebrated the goodness of God. God is indeed good and we have seen the seeds we have been planting begin to grow. The last Sunday of the month, we had another Family and Friends Sunday. Not only were many of our VBS kids and their families there, but also many families that we have been ministering to.
Otoniel Dannemann, Tulsa Fuente de Vida. . . We had five new visitors in our Bible studies in homes, and one gave her life to Jesus.
Brady Thelander, Sapulpa. . . Loved seeing 25 of our people hit the streets with balloons and invites for our Summer VBS. Many quality conversations with neighbors were had. We have also celebrated 4 new people attending our church multiple times in the month of July.
Yalmi & Norma Izaguirre, Tulsa Roca de Salvacion (previously Tulsa Regency Iglesia). . . We celebrate the blessing of God — we signed the approval of the mortgage and on July 28th we received the keys to our new building. Praise the Lord we have a place to meet!
Scott Moore, Broken Arrow First. . . Our Vacation Bible School had over 110 kids in attendance each night.
Brian Loderhose, Owasso Silver Creek. . . We have had such a great summer, especially in July. Our teens experienced an amazing week at NYC and came home and shared their excitement with us. We were blessed to host Larry & Phyllis West from Indonesia. Plus, we’ve been blessed with the opportunity to partner with Family for Life to provide a dinner/date night for foster families once a month.
Casey Hollingsworth, Miami New Life. . . We had 150 attend our New Life Swim Night at the Miami City pool. There were 60 people who were not yet a part of our church attend this event. Had many opportunities to connect to people who need Jesus!
Drew Dinnel, Muskogee First. . . This month has been a full month with NYC, Kids Camp, and Faith Promise. Faith Promise is a really big bright spot this month. On Faith Promise Sunday we had set a goal of $10,000.00 in pledges ($2,000 above last year’s pledges) and we received pledges of $14,080.00. For me, this is such a promising sign for the engagement and buy-in of the congregation, especially in the summer months.
Clemente & Maria Luisa Montoya, Tulsa Fe y Esperanza. . . We want to celebrate the visits of many immediate family members of our church family. They come seeking restoration from the Lord.
