NEO Team Update 8-23-21
Do Your Friendships Reflect God’s Heart?
by Kevin G. Harney
We should follow Jesus’ example by cultivating friendships with nonbelievers.
Christian community and being part of a local church are essential for a healthy life of faith. God delights when we are active in the body of Christ, his family. But too many Christians get so invested in relationships with their believing friends that they forget to develop and nurture friendships with those who have not come to experience and embrace the grace of Jesus.
It is easy to circle the spiritual wagons and take a defensive attitude toward the world. Some Christians see nonbelievers as the enemy. When this attitude prevails, we tend to break off our relationships with people who are not Christians. If we do interact with nonbelievers, we tend to keep these relationships shallow and safe.
This way of thinking is diametrically opposed to the example of Jesus. It is contrary to the very heartbeat of God. Read More
All NEO churches are encouraged to fully engage in A Journey of Grace in October and November. How exciting it will be to have all of us taking our faith communities through the Journey of Grace together with Sunday worship services, Bible study, children and youth groups all geared around this Journey of Grace.
Local Missions Opportunity
Work has begun on renovations to the Pawhuska Parsonage. A new deck has been built, tile flooring removed, and windows sealed. If you would like to help for a few hours, contact Jerry Wilburg, JerryW@Thermoflo.net.
NEO District Assembly 2021
Thanks to all who contributed in making District Assembly such a huge success!
District Assembly Offering
Thank you for your diaper donations at District Assembly. Alycia and I were blown away by your response. It truly is a blessing for the new church, and for the city of Cushing. The Lord already presented us with someone in need. This young lady needed diapers for her kids, and a car seat that was donated by our wonderful neighbor.
We are praying that the Lord will continue to bring us in contact with people who are in need. We are excited to share the Gospel them!
Thank you again for your donations!

Nazarene Students at Colleges in Oklahoma
Do you know a student who will attend an Oklahoma college/university this fall? We want your student to be connected with the local Church where they attend school. Students are looking for a place to belong and we want to reach out. Connecting with students happens most often when we can make the first step. For that to happen, we need your help. Please take a moment to share student contact information with us. Nazarene Connection Ministries Survey (google.com)
Rev. Steven & Rhonda Lester and Rev. Steve & Miriam Davis recently welcomed new grandbabies. We join them in celebrating the new lives of Este Lucille and Deacon James!
