Update
We have reached the fourth stage of the District Superintendent Election process, “Discern Nominees.” At this time, the regional office is compiling a list of all candidates nominated in the previous stage. A resume for each candidate is added (without contacting any candidate at this point). The District Advisory Committee (DAC) will receive the list shortly and is scheduled to meet on March 2nd to begin the process of discerning candidates. The goal is to arrive at 2-4 interviewees by March 19.
Prayer
Prayer concerns: As we enter the next stage of seeking a new District Superintendent, we as a district are praying for:
– Hearts to seek wisdom as we nominate candidates
– The families of those nominated as they seek the Lord’s will
– The district leadership as they seek wisdom on who should be nominated
– The regional leadership as they give counsel to the DAC
– The General Superintendents as they seek wisdom in guiding this process as well
– Dave and Gloria as they continue to lead our district and seek God as to what their future holds
– That ultimately God’s Will be done in the process
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you seeking Wisdom as we search for candidates to nominate for District Superintendent. Lord, we know that your hand is involved in the process. God, bless the leaders from around the world, bless the regional leadership and bless our district here in Northeast Oklahoma as we seek your will for the future of our churches. Lord, we know that you hem us in from behind and go before us as we pray and seek names to nominate for this position. May our hearts be humbled and all agendas set aside. May nominees have hearts seeking you and your will for their callings. May the man or woman who comes have a smooth transition to the position and the members of this district accept him or her with open arms. May we come beside them and seek what our future holds. And lastly, Lord, continue to be with Dave and Gloria as they continue to lead and look toward what you have for them next. May we give you praise and glory as we rest in faith that your will be done in this process.
