Timeline

Let’s take a look at the timeline for electing a new District Superintendent.

The process begun with a letter from General Superintendent Dr. David Busic. Next, we asked for your involvement as we put together a profile of our district and a description of the kind of woman or man we are looking for in a future DS. The results of those surveys are currently being evaluated.

Next, we will accept nominations, which can be any ordained elder in the Church of the Nazarene (starting after January 19 and concluding on February 3). The nomination process will be open to everyone – even people from other districts whom God may lead to suggest a qualified candidate.

After that, the DAC will work through the list of nominees and in collaboration with the Board of General Superintendents, select 2-3 nominees whom we will invite for an interview. Those interviews are tentatively scheduled for April 20-21. By the end of April, we hope to have chosen the two candidates that will be presented to the District Assembly in June. The District Assembly will not be limited to those two candidates. A two-thirds majority will be necessary for election.

DISTRICT SUPERINTENDENT ELECTION: This post is part of an ongoing series in preparation for our District Superintendent Election at the upcoming District Assembly (June 5-6, 2026). For more information, please go to https://neokdistrict.org/ds-search .
