The task of identifying two candidates for the District Superintendent ballot falls to the District Advisory Committee (DAC). The DAC is composed of the District Advisory Board, the president of the District NDI Board, the president of the district NMI, the president of the district NYI, the district secretary, and the district treasurer (as defined in the Manual). The DAC is sub-divided into two teams for some of the work preparing the District Superintendent election.
The Process Team led in developing the District and District Superintendent profiles (which the whole district was invited to weigh in on) and is going to prepare presentations to the District Assembly describing the process and introducing the two candidates. (Note: the assembly will not be limited to the two candidates printed on the first ballot.)
The Prayer and Communications Team is tasked with keeping the district up to date on the process and resource everyone in the district to participate by praying. This happens primarily through the introductory video, communications on the web site and on the district Facebook page, and via direct e-mail to the lead pastors and church offices.
On every third Tuesday of the months of December through April, a Zoom prayer meeting takes place that is open to everyone in the district. The link for the Zoom prayer meeting is provided to pastors and church offices in advance.
