The Rodriguez family currently serves as Global Commissioned Missionaries for the Church of the Nazarene, assigned to the Nazarene Border Initiative based out of El Paso Texas. They began their service with NBI as Mission Corps Missionaries in February of 2012. Roberto and Rhesa are Work and Witness Coordinators for the US Mexico Border, where their responsibilities include organizing and hosting work and witness teams, encouraging and supporting current churches, both English and Spanish, on both sides of the US/Mexico border. They manage the El Paso office as well as host retreats and seminars for local Nazarene churches.
Dr. Graves was chosen for the highest elected office in the denomination at the 27th General Assembly held in Orlando, Florida, USA, in 2009. At the time of his election, Dr. Graves was the senior pastor of College Church of the Nazarene in Olathe, Kansas, where he had served since 2006. Prior to College Church, he served as director of Sunday School Ministries for the Church of the Nazarene International Headquarters from 2001 to 2006. Graves is a graduate of Olivet Nazarene University and received his Master of Divinity degree from Nazarene Theological Seminary. He received an honorary Doctor of Divinity from Olivet. He is the author of three books and has written for numerous publications. Dr. Graves and his wife, Sharon, have four married children, Michael, John, Stephen, and Rachel, and 12 grandchildren.
Have you ever heard a kid say, “I wonder why …?” In our children’s activities for District Assembly, we will be tackling some of the common questions kids have about God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and more! We want kids to live in wonder about their awesome God, seeking answers to their questions, standing in awe of how great He is, and having faith for the answers they don’t yet have. Kids from 4 years old through the 6th grade will have a blast as they say, “I wonder why … ?”
