NEO Team Update 3-15-23
Exponential 2023
Nineteen members of the NEO Family attended Exponential 2023 in Orlando last week with our New Start Coordinator, Ronnie Baker. They joined close to 400 other Nazarenes and 3500 participants in times of worship, prayer and teaching. The focus of Exponential every year is on the church multiplying through church planting. This year’s emphasis was on a renewal of evangelism and disciple making. We pray that those who participated will come home with new vision, new passion and new insights for helping us reach the lost and make disciples in NEO!
God is at work in our world. Our desire is to join Him in what he is doing. For that reason we are taking seriously the call to prayer from Easter to Pentecost. How appropriate that that takes us into the month of General Assembly and NEO District Assembly. Our District Assembly theme will be “Mission to Vision” We will be looking at ways we already do and can mobilize NEO Nazarenes to: Bless our Communities, Bring People to Jesus and Become Christlike Disciples.

NEO Impacting Zimbabwe
Ruth Takapera, Nazarene from Zimbabwe, spent several months in Tulsa in 2022 to receive training to help her empower women vocationally in her home country. While here, she participated and served at Southwest Church, as well as Manna House and Abba’s Celebrate Recovery. The District and Southwest Church both participated in supporting her ministry as she returned home. Ruth recently sent these pictures and a report:
I am writing to extend gratitude to the church family for their support. On the 18th of February I successfully facilitated my first workshop in a part of rural Zimbabwe called Dema Village. The community was very welcoming and 19 women showed up for the training. May God bless you in abundance. We are His hands and His feet, I pray for the Holy Spirit to always lead us to bring the gospel to others as well as showing the love and heart of Jesus. Be blessed and again my gratitude to all who gave in support of the work I do.
