NEO Team Update

NEO Team Update

Join us as we gather as a district for a time of prayer and intimacy in the presence of the Holy Spirit! This will not be a typical Wednesday night prayer meeting. There will be no speakers and no notebooks. Our only agenda will be to listen and spend several hours together in deep, personal engagement with the Holy Spirit.

Dr. Daniel Ketchum, former Global NYI President and Global Missions Director, as well as Field Strategy Coordinator for multiple fields in the Eurasia Region, has led groups of Christians into encounters with the Holy Spirit all around the world for several decades. There will be large group times of prayer paired with times of breaking up into trios, we will worship our Lord, and we will be quiet before Him. However, there will be no pre-set agenda – we will respond as we sense the Spirit’s leading. Each prayer segment will allow unique fellowship in the Holy Spirit, expressed through singing (hymns, praise and worship songs, choruses), reading of Scripture, and praying.

CHILDREN, TEENS: A Gathering for Everyone!

Spending time in God’s presence is a gift to the entire family! We intend to include children for some of our prayer time but most of the time, the children (age 4 through 6th grade) will have their own prayer gathering. We will also provide a Nursery for the little ones. Past sixth grade, this time is for teens as much as those in their twenties – or seventies.

TIME & LOCATION

We will gather on Friday, March 11 at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, March 12 starting at 9:00 a.m. After a short lunch on location, we will continue until about 4:00 p.m. We encourage everyone to participate in the entire gathering to receive the greatest continuity and deepest blessing. Our meeting location is Broken Arrow First Church of the Nazarene with teens through adults meeting in the Sanctuary while children and Nursery age will meet in the Family Life Center. Church address: 401 W. New Orleans, Broken Arrow, OK 74011.

LUNCH

We intend to eat on location on Saturday (cost will be donations only).

Join us in a time of prayer for renewal in our ministry and our churches.

Let us pray for a resurgence in the Nazarene message of hope and holiness.

“God does nothing but by prayer, and everything with it.”

Pawhuska Parsonage Makeover

We often say, “We are better together!”. The truth of that statement was again seen in the amazing parsonage makeover done by workers from at least 7 NEO churches. Several of the men who assisted are pictured above with Project Manager, Gerald Messner, on the far left. Please take time to see the pictures of before, during and after the transformation! (Click HERE) We gathered at the parsonage on January 25 to thank God and to pray for the new pastor, Dan and Nan McCandless, who will be moving into the parsonage next week!

NEO Pastors, “I Want to Celebrate…”

Brady Thelander, Sapulpa: “We had our highest attended Christmas Eve service in years. We hosted over 150 people from our community for our first ever Polar Express event. We had guests return for church the following Sunday.”

Clark Howe, Bartlesville: “We are celebrating a wonderful turnout for Christmas Eve services. We printed 400 invites for our folks to hand out to folks. We pushed invites out over social media and we put ‘political’ signs all along the road with the church logo and Christmas Eve services times. We did two one-hour services at 4:30 PM and 6:00 PM. And God blessed the efforts – we had our highest attendance (311) in the seven years for which we have records, including at least five new families and many more that haven’t attended for a few years.”

Dan Hazelton, Pryor: “I have really appreciated how God has blessed my real estate business. I haven’t needed to take a pay check for a few months from the church and have been able to help out ministry and others in greater ways. … Over the last couple months we have 2 people delivered from meth, 1 from cigarettes and another from gambling. All the credit goes to Jesus!”

NEO NYI Winter Retreat

NEO NYI invaded New Life Ranch Frontier Cove January 15-17! Because of COVID, around 40 had to back out… but we still had around 140 in attendance! The facilities, the worship, the messages by our NEO pastors, and the discipleship emphasis made this a fantastic weekend. Thanks to Nick Williams and Drew Dinnell for leading this outstanding weekend! Click HERE for more pictures and upcoming events.

January 30, 2022 is designated “Seminary Sunday” across the church. Let’s pray for and give to the work of Nazarene Theological Seminary on that day in our worship service. For materials to use on that Sunday, click HERE.
