I Want to Celebrate…

Austin Troyer, Tahlequah: We served around 100 meals at our local day center this month and distributed winter clothing to those in need.

Brian Loderhose, Owasso Silver Creek: We celebrated our third baptism service last Sunday! We took in six new members, and we had standing room only. We stopped counting people at 180 as we could not see or seat them all. This was a combined service with Pastor Fabian and Teresa, and the Spirit was moving among our people. We are excited that we have added Danelle Petty as our Children’s Director and Pastor Nick Williams as our Executive Pastor. We have much to be thankful for and an exciting road ahead.

Rod Thelander, Sand Springs: We had an amazing day on our Annual Turkey Give-A-Way this year. We had 135 people in worship and gave away $75 vouchers to 75 different families! This has become one of our favorite Sundays of the year as we minister to many unchurched people in our community. To God be the glory!!!

Nain and Yanira Caceres, Tulsa El Buen Pastor: We celebrated our 8th anniversary last week with Dr. McKellips preaching. The room was packed with young families and several seeking God in prayer as the service concluded.

Steve Spangenberg, Bartlesville First: Bartlesville First Church provided a living nativity for the City’s Christmas Celebration and received overwhelming positive feedback on how impactful it was. They especially loved Wanda the camel and Cusco the Lama, but Roo, the seven-month-old kangaroo, stole the show! A representative from the Bartlesville Chamber of Commerce said, “I think we just may need to make this a yearly tradition.”

Brady Thelander, Sapulpa: We had 340 at our Polar Express Interactive Movie, with over 70 volunteers. We dedicated two babies and have another dedication in January. Our ministry to Foster Care Parents is thriving with many families returning every month and building a strong sense of community.

Dave McKellips, NEO District: I celebrate the hiring of Katrina Schuber as the new Administrative Assistant for the District Office. Katrina and husband Jerry are part of Core Church. She loves people and has strong skills in administration and technology. Katrina started training this week and will primarily work Mondays and Thursdays in the office. She can be reached at kat@neokdistrict.com.

Brad Farnsworth, Core Church: Core Movement Ethiopia has expanded to Somalia, Kenya, and Uganda. We now have over 20 underground house churches and 4 traditional churches. Approximately 600 people reached for Jesus!

We now have the first ever Camel Church for nomads. We also just started Boat Church in Somalia. The fisherman in this area cannot worship freely due to persecution. So they take the fishing boat out into the ocean, far from the land, to worship openly every Sunday.

Three new churches have been started in Kenya and Uganda. Those churches started under a tree and now have over 100 people worshiping regularly. They are in the process of constructing a building which we are helping to fund.

We are humbled by the work God is doing.

Prime Time Christmas Event a Success

Thanks to Broken Arrow Connect Church for hosting a wonderful Prime Time Christmas Event. Over 100 people signed up for the lunch and enjoyed the meal, singing, gifts and fellowship. Thanks Kendall Moseley and the Prime Time Mission Area Coordinators for your work in 2023!

Several churches are going to join us for the “Following Jesus Together” journey in January and February. For eight weeks we will take a deep dive into all the components of The Cycle to Resurgence! We will be seeking to mobilize all our congregation in blessing our communities, bringing people to Jesus and making Christlike disciples. This will be the focus of our sermons, small groups and other growth times in our congregation. The weekly themes are:

Jan. 7:                    3 Epic Questions

Jan. 14:                   Bible Engagement

Jan. 21:                   Passionate Prayer

Jan. 28:                   Wholehearted Worship

Feb. 4                      Humble Service

Feb. 11                    Joyful Generosity

Feb. 18                    Consistent Community

Feb. 25                    Organic Outreach

What a joy to follow Jesus together!
