NEO Team Update

NEO Team Update

Dear NEO family,

Summer is HOT for NEO Nazarenes! And I am not just talking about the temperature outdoors! We have already had outstanding Conventions, Assembly, and two camps, with our last camp coming this weekend for kids who have completed 4th through 6th grades. Many of our churches have hosted Vacation Bible School or another outreach activity. Look below to learn more about training events planned for the next few months and to see what our pastors are celebrating!

Bartlesville First extended a call to a prospective pastor yesterday. Continue to pray for this church and others in pastoral transition – Cleveland, Drumright and Miami New Life.

Also, some of you are receiving emails, supposedly from Dave McKellips, requesting gift cards, etc. Please disregard these – they are not legitimate. I apologize for the inconvenience!

Pastors’ “I Want to Celebrate…”

Deniys Paz, Broken Arrow Iglesia – We have spent three years strengthening the believers to be prepared to reach out. We get together Monday for prayer and have a monthly prayer vigil. We are now growing.

Brady Thelander, Sapulpa – We averaged 43 kids at VBS and had 2 kids make a profession of faith for the first time. We had 25 guests on VBS Celebration Sunday. We had two kids come for the first time from our church block.

Otoniel Dannemann, Tulsa Fuente de Vida – We recently baptized 9 people.

Jim Thornton, Tulsa Hills – Tulsa Hills Church is blessed to continue our relationship with Marcus and Angela Howard and their members at New Life Training Center. Over the past 5 years, we have worshipped with them in our building. But on July 10 we were privileged to join them in their recently purchased facility (formerly Tulsa Baptist Temple). As much as we love the Northeast Oklahoma Nazarene family, we also love worshipping with Christ-followers beyond the Church of the Nazarene. Glad we don’t have to choose one or the other.😇

Arturo Amaro, Tulsa Cielos Abiertos – Opening three missions outside our mother church; preparing local pastors; 7 baptisms planned for August 14.

Hank Grant, Audacity Associate – I am celebrating new visitors in a month that is historically low for most churches! July 3rd we saw 12 new visitors! And the month of June our lowest week was still over 100 in attendance. I am so excited to see how God is moving in and through our people. I am also celebrating our up coming 5th Sunday event being planned by our summer interns.

Jorge Arellano, Tulsa Central Hispanic – Visitors coming; two child dedications; a few candidates for baptism.

Victor and Anna Ruiz, Tulsa Regency Park – God is working through the English as a Second Language class.
