NEO Team Update 8-30-18
This is the season that brings a lot of changes. Children start a new grade, the weather is cooling down, trees are starting to change color, and the list could go on and on. I want to share about changes in NMI. On the District NMI, one change is that President David Stevens asked me, Linda Holland, to serve as interim president. David is not leaving, but he needed a break, a sabbatical, to refresh himself. If you need to contact me, send me an email. Another change in our District NMI is that Cynthia Hollingsworth is our new Work and Witness director. If you have questions or want information, contact her through email.
There are also changes from the General NMI Convention. We have a new logo, we changed the constitution a little, and we tried to make it easier for you in the local church to share with your congregation about NMI. The NMI web page has changed – use it to assist with videos and handouts. There are no longer special months to have an emphasis; whatever works for your church is great, except for Alabaster.
We receive the Alabaster offering in September and February. Alabaster is probably my favorite offering because 100% of the money you raise goes straight to purchase land and build churches, schools, hospitals and clinics around the world. All your money is put to work. I would like to challenge you this September. Every day take the ‘CHANGE’ out of your pockets and put it in your Alabaster box. Let’s see if NEO can have the biggest Alabaster offering ever raised. Pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters add up in God’s hands.
I am praying for each of your local presidents and for your church that God will bless you for your generosity.
We welcome Pastor Cary Tipton, wife Argelia, and family to NEO! Pastor Cary was installed at Mannford Grace Family Worship Center last Sunday.
We rejoice in very positive church/pastor reviews for Pastor Brian Loderhose and Owasso Silver Creek Church, Pastor Steve Brown and the Cleveland Church and Pastor Fabian Correa and Owasso Hispanic Congregation.
Regency Park Completes Successful Faith Promise
Regency Park’s Faith Promise Banquet began with a goal of $73,000 for Faith Promise pledges, and as of last Sunday they have $74,000 committed! They have reached their goal every year either through commitments on Faith Promise Sunday or money given without a commitment after the convention.
Do you want to know how to have a meaningful Faith Promise Campaign? Check with their NMI President, Janet, or Pastor Geoffrey at Regency Park about sitting in on their planning and implementation next spring!
